What do you mean by ‘Feeling’ ?
The feeling I am referring to is the innate sense of pure joy, love, peace , power and freedom that you feel when you are experiencing your elevated state of being, that is often found when you are in a beautiful natural environment.
What do you mean by ‘Connection’?
A feeling of being totally present and connected to self so that you can be open and have a relationship to others, to the environment, to the planet. Being connected to the feeling of your consequences that impacts the planet and others.
What is my ‘Footprint’?
Your mark, your legacy, your impact, that you leave on the planet and people around you, from all your choices and actions every day. Your specific ecological footprint is the dimension of land and water required to produce crops, livestock, fish, wood products, and energy as well as the area required to absorb the carbon dioxide produced by burning fossil fuels to support your lifestyle. The planet can only sustain an average human footprint of 1.8 hectares.. what is yours? You can estimate your ecological footprint at www.myfootprint.org
What is ‘Sustainability’ ?
Sustainability is an ideal. In this instance it is the continuous returning to self in your innate feeling of ‘elevated state of being’, so that who you are in every moment reflects in the choices you make. Sustainability is about behaviours and actions that keep our selves and the planet ‘full and thriving’, regenerating constantly to sustain life as we know it.
What is Climate Change ?
This refers to the changing of the Earth’s temperature and weather conditions, as a result of increased C02 and other greenhouse gases such as methane and the dramatic influences these have on our ability to grow food, the land where people can live and the supply of resources we need to survive.
What is Global Warming?
The trend of increasing temperature of the atmosphere. It’s cause lies in the processes and outcomes of modern agriculture, industrial, commercial, public and private human activity and radiation.
What is Carbon Sequestration?
The process of permanently storing C02 or other greenhouse compounds, generally in plants or underground, so they will not be released into the atmosphere and exacerbate the green house gas effect.
What is Carbon Offsetting?
When you compensate for your pollution through contributing to projects that reduce carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gasses from the atmosphere, or prevent them from being emitted....you then create a carbon offset.
What can I do as a single person?
Be totally aware and know the impact of your choice in every moment. Practice a ‘connect- feel- choose’ way of living and you can dramatically reduce your footprint without giving anything away. Remember the importance of just taking one step at a time, and collectively the positive impact that has on the planet.
